1. Who We Are
Vera is operated by Veleria ("we", "us", "our"), based in Melbourne, Australia. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your personal information responsibly. You can reach us any time at contact@veleria.com.au.
2. Information We Collect
Account information — your email address, name, and password when you create an account. Usage data — tasks, habits, health logs, journal entries, financial records, meal plans, calendar events, and other data you voluntarily enter into Vera's 16 life modules. AI conversations — messages you exchange with AI characters are stored to provide continuity and personalised responses. Device information — browser type, operating system, IP address, and device identifiers, used for security and analytics. Payment information — handled securely by our payment processor. We never store your full card details on our servers.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to provide, maintain, and improve Vera — including personalising AI responses, generating insights across your life data, syncing calendars, processing payments, and sending service-related communications. We do not use your personal data to train AI models.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. We work with a small number of trusted infrastructure providers — for hosting, payment processing, and AI features — strictly to operate the service on our behalf. Every provider is bound by a data processing agreement and may only use your data to deliver the service to you, never for their own purposes.
5. Data Security
We implement row-level security on all database queries, encrypt data in transit with modern TLS, and encrypt files at rest in our document vault. Only you can access your data. Despite our best efforts, no method of electronic storage is ever 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Shared Spaces
When you join a Shared Space, certain data — shopping lists, tasks, calendar events, and chat messages within that space — becomes visible to other members of the space. You control what you share, and you can leave a space at any time. Your personal modules outside the space remain private.
7. Data Retention & Deletion
Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. If you cancel or delete your account, your data is retained for 30 days, then permanently deleted. You can export all of your data at any time from your account settings.
8. Your Rights
Under the Australian Privacy Act 1988, you have the right to access, correct, and delete your personal information. You can exercise these rights at any time through your account settings, or by contacting us at contact@veleria.com.au.
9. Children's Privacy
Vera is not intended for children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your region). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Cookies
We use essential cookies for authentication and session management only. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party advertising cookies. Vera does not show ads.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or in-app notification. Continued use of Vera after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
