Why Vera Exists
It started with being annoyed at explaining myself to something that had already forgotten. The rest followed from that.
Vera came out of a specific irritation rather than a business plan, which is probably obvious from the way it is put together.
Two problems, one shape
The apps running my life had never heard of each other. My habit tracker did not know the week had been brutal, my budget did not know why the takeaway went up, and my journal never noticed I had slept badly all week. Each one held a corner of the same picture.
And every assistant I tried was blank each time I opened it. Clever, and starting from nothing, every single time. I got tired of explaining myself to something with no memory.
The idea that held it up
One memory, and a few characters drawing on it. Not one assistant with a name, because the voice you want on a bad night is not the voice you want on a messy Monday, and switching should not cost you the context.
Built and run in Melbourne
By one person, mostly at night, with a good deal of rebuilding along the way. It is not finished, some parts are better than others, and the support email comes to me.
